Fill in the Blankie Review

by The Suburban Mom on July 9, 2010

Recently, I was generously offered the opportunity to order a custom embroidered blankie from fillintheblankie.com. I have received and reviewed many blankets but the one thing that sets this company apart from the others, is that it can be customized like nothing else!

Once on fillintheblankie.com’s website, I was amazed at the selection they offered, 39 different blanket styles/colors, 27 fonts and 18 thread colors. It could have been overwhelming but the website is so user friendly that ordering is a snap!

The blanket is unique, because it is truly one of a kind. Unlike many personalized blankets on the market, fillintheblankie.com lets you personalize all four sides of the 2 inches of soft & silky satin trim on the blanket.

Not only can this blanket be customized for a new baby, but also you can customize it for just about any occasion, Christening & Baptism, toddler & birthday gifts and even baby showers. I love the fact that I didn’t have to think about coming up with a fantastic message to embroider. Thanks to fillintheblankie.com suggestion section,  offering inspiring words to make the blanket truly creative. You can even view how the font will look before ordering.

The ordering process was simple and I was even more please on how fast the blanket arrived. I ordered “Natalie’s On Cloud Nine” in Chocolate Molasses/Ivory. It truly is beautiful and makes a great gift. Starting at $49, it really makes an affordable and memorable gift.

A truly spill proof sippy cup??

by The Suburban Mom on June 29, 2010

I don’t think I have been so frustrated in a long time. I can handle a lot, lack of sleep, a messy house, laundry piled up, 3 kids screaming all at the same time, but the one thing that truly drives me nuts are sippy cups that leak! After buying and trying almost every brand on the market, I have finally found 2 that seem to live up to their claim.

The first sippy cup that past the test of my boys is the Nuk Fun Grips Spill Proof Cup-10oz and the other one is Tommee Tippee Explora Truly Spill Proof Sippy Cup-11oz. I like the Nuk Fun Grips Spill Proof Cup because it is simple, has one valve, and is super easy to clean. The boys can hold it easily because of the contoured grip and even when they whip the cup around the room it doesn’t leak! Yippee.

Coming in second to the Nuk is the Tommee Tippee Explora Sippy Cup. I like that fact that the spout cover  self stores in the lid. So it makes it super easy for travel and I don’t have to worry about the spout getting dirty. The only reason it’s my second choice, is because the value is in two parts which makes it a little more difficult to clean (not too big of a deal, but I am always in a rush and the extra step can set me back!). They both are dishwasher safe and truly leak proof. Finally cups that won’t ruin the bottom of my bag!

        Vidazorb® Belly Boost™ Review

by The Suburban Mom on June 27, 2010

Anyone who follows my blog knows that I have been battling eczema with 2 of my 3 kids. Creams have worked and then “stopped,” I have adjusted their diets, installed a very expensive water conditioner/softener, tried cortisone creams and multiple remedies all to no avail. Recently, I received a bottle of Vidazorb® Belly Boost™, and have been given it to my very picky 3 1/2 year old. Most probiotics, she has chewed and spit out, but not Vidazorb® Belly Boost™. She actually chewed it up and asked for more!?!. Yippee and yummy:)

Vidazorb® Belly Boost™ is a probiotic supplement specially formulated to help maintain healthy digestion in children. It does not need to be refrigerated, is flavorful, comes in a cute bumble bee shape called Zorbee®. Most importantly aids in the digestion of vital nutrients while supporting the body’s immune system, and helps kids resist seasonal and environmental illnesses.

After using the product for 3 weeks now, I already noticed a difference in my daughter’s skin. And best of all, I have been able to stop giving her the Miralax that she needed to stay regular. Over the past several years, I have read about the benefits of probiotics and taken them myself, but was yet to find a way to incorporate them in my kids diet, until now. Thank you Vidazorb® Belly Boost™ for coming to the rescue!

Fisher-Price Healthy Care Deluxe Booster Seat

by The Suburban Mom on June 21, 2010

My twin boys are nuts! They are like two tornadoes that attack anything  and their highchairs were no exception. My one son broke the strap as he desperately tried to escape. So, once again I began another hunt for another new product.

I was a little tired of the amount of space that two highchairs took and was ready to reclaim a little bit of our kitchen back. After trying a few different booster chairs, I chose the Fisher Price Healthy Care Deluxe Booster Seat. First of all, I like that the colors are neutral, because I have become a little tired of the bright primary colored items that some many manufacturers use.

Made of sturdy and durable plastic, The Healthy Care Booster Seat is built to last. It also features three height adjustments that allow for a custom fit to any table, so you can easily move from feeding baby in the kitchen to having him join the family at the dining room table for mealtime. In addition, front and rear seat straps adjust to fit virtually any chair–a real plus when you’re eating out–and the three-point harness keeps your child securely seated. You can even remove the back and tray for older children. Finally, adjustable shoulder straps let you carry the seat from room to room, and the tray snaps off for traveling ease.

Unlike traditional seats, this one-piece seat is entirely seam and crevice free, meaning there’s no place for crumbs to hide. Simply wipe the tray and seat clean, or put the tray in the dishwasher, and you’re done!

          Radio Flyer All-Terrain Cargo Wagon

by The Suburban Mom on June 4, 2010

Now that summer is almost here,  I began another new search for the best “thing” to tote all my kids in. I had memories of my own little red wagon from when I was a child and remember piling in it with my 2 older brothers. So I started checking out all the wagons on the market and decided that The Radio Flyer All-Terrain Cargo Wagon would fit all of my needs!

I really like the Radio Flyer All-Terrain Cargo Wagon. Not only will all 3 kids fit in it, but I’ll have a little extra room for some drinks, snacks and a few sand toys. The body and sides are made of finished wood, so it won’t get hot like a metal wagon. The painted bright red stake sides simply lift out, so it’s easy to get the kids in and out.

The wheels were a major selling point for me. The Radio Flyer wagon has big, inflatable tires that roll easily on pavement or rough terrain. So, I am excited to hit the beach, pull it through the grass at the park or even use it to haul the kids to Starbucks on my morning walk!

          elegantbaby.com baby bowl feeding set-blue

by The Suburban Mom on May 18, 2010

My twin boys are now at the point where they will do anything to make each other laugh. So simple things are now becoming a little more challenging, especially at meal time. My one son loves to throw his cup on the floor and the other one loves to throw his food. They both think this is the funniest thing ever and being 1yr old boys, a stern look just makes them “perform” even more!

So when the the baby bowl feeding set arrived from elegantbaby.com, I was very interested in putting it to the test. First thing I noticed was that the bowl was larger and deeper then the ones I had tried in the past. This colorful plastic bowl sits on a silicone suction base which truly stays suctioned to the highchair tray. So as hard as they tried, they could not pry it loose.

The bowl comes with a soft food grade animal spoon,  which my one son absolutely loves and even cry’s when I try to take it away from him.  So, he now walks and crawls around with it!

The boys were very intrigued  by the bowl and picked their food very carefully out of it. I was amazed that there was very little cleanup. It is even microwave and dishwasher safe. The colorful little bowl set seems to have instantly transformed them into little gentlemen, well at least for today!

At $15 it is well worth the price. Now all I have to do is order a second one, so they don’t fight over the spoon:)

Elegantbaby.com offers a wide variety  baby of products in bold colors and spectacular designs. If you are looking for a baby bank, check out their adorable polka-dotted piggy – or a silver-plated helicopter.  I love the baby bibs that can be monogrammed. A great gift idea for a new mom or a mom of multiples who needs to distinguish  between what item belongs to who!
